hype.kit Privacy Policy

Google, YouTube and Calendar data

hype.kit uses YouTube API Services. Connecting your YouTube channel to hype.kit is optional. If you choose to connect it, you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

What we access. With your permission, hype.kit requests read-only access to your YouTube channel and the list of videos you have uploaded, and to the YouTube Analytics reports for that channel, including views, watch time, traffic sources and audience geography and demographics. hype.kit never requests permission to upload, edit or delete anything on your channel, and never posts on your behalf.

How we use it. We use this data only to show you your own channel and release performance inside hype.kit and to generate recommendations for your own releases. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to data brokers or credit agencies, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalised models.

How we store it. The channel and video identifiers you select are stored against your hype.kit projects so your dashboards persist between sessions. Raw YouTube Analytics data is cached for no longer than 30 days and then refreshed from the API, in line with the YouTube API Services Terms. Your access and refresh tokens are stored encrypted and are used only to make requests on your behalf.

Who we share it with. We do not share your Google or YouTube data with any other user or any third party, other than the infrastructure providers who host hype.kit and process data on our behalf under contract.

Revoking access. You can disconnect YouTube from inside hype.kit at any time, and you can revoke hype.kit's access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect, we delete the stored tokens and the cached YouTube data held for your account.

Google Calendar. Syncing your hype.kit plan to Google Calendar is optional. When you turn it on, you grant hype.kit permission to create and manage events on your primary Google Calendar. We only create, update and remove events that hype.kit itself created. Every event we write carries a hype.kit tag, and we only ever read back events carrying that tag. We do not read the content of your other calendar entries, we do not use calendar data for advertising, and we do not share it with any other user.

Disconnecting Calendar. You can turn the sync off inside hype.kit at any time, or revoke access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you do, we stop writing to your calendar and delete the stored tokens. Events already written stay in your own calendar until you remove them, and you can ask us to tell you which ones they are by emailing hello@myhypekit.com.

Limited Use. hype.kit's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
